‘Tis the season for the streets to clear,
To shoulder the least traffic of the year,
Allowing us to flit between parties,
With coworkers, friends and new-acquainted smarties,
Celebrating winter as we go
(Always, ever happy there’s no snow).
For the lucky who remain here,
SoCal Santa wears shorts to tend his reindeer.
There’s ample parking; skip the valet!
Visit tourists traps while everyone’s away!
There’s hardly any line outside of Pink’s.
(And if you want ice, hie to the skating rinks.)
After New Year’s, Angelinos will return
From the brief, year-end holiday sojourn.
We’ll trade stories when we meet up at work,
From happy to suspenseful to crazy-berzerk.
Grateful for the time we spent apart,
Returning to this city that’s our heart.
And so be well this holiday season,
